The PFERD POLICAP® Seamless Abrasive Cap – Part 46084 is designed for precision fine grinding and surface finishing in demanding industrial and workshop environments. Measuring 1/4" x 5/8" and manufactured in Shape L (conical with radius end), this abrasive cap is ideal for controlled work on edges, contours, and smaller component features. Built with 150 grit aluminum oxide, it provides smooth material refinement and consistent finishing results. The POLICAP® seamless design allows the entire abrasive surface to be utilized, promoting uniform wear and extended service life. This abrasive cap is suitable for universal use on steel workpieces including cast steel, stainless steel (INOX), hardened and heat-treated steels (>370 HV / 38 HRC), high-hardness steels (>54 HRC), and steels up to 370 HV. It is particularly well-suited for tool and die-making, repair applications, and detailed finishing tasks. It can also be used on plastics, wood, and fillers in model crafting applications. During operation, the cap expands securely onto the holder to ensure stable performance and reduced slipping. Product changes are quick and efficient—simply twist slightly clockwise and pull off while leaving the holder clamped in the power tool. For optimal performance, operate at a recommended peripheral speed of 2,000–4,000 SFPM. Do not exceed the maximum permitted speed of 5,500 SFPM.
